Although two procurement problems are rarely identical, the tools to solve them can be largely standardized.

Although two procurement problems are rarely identical, the tools to solve them can be largely standardized.

But for templates to actually be used, they must be simple, intuitive, and deliver clear benefits.

Take the negotiation planner, for example: we helped one state institution save about 100 million on rising raw material prices, a ministry cut in half the penalty for undrawn electricity, and a component buyer unblock an “unsolvable situation with a supplier.”

For Promitea software, I am gradually introducing templates based on best practices as well as practical tricks you won’t find in any book. The latest trend is an assistant that allows you to fill in individual templates through a conversation with artificial intelligence. Of course, you still need to edit and supplement the draft, but within an hour you can have, for example, a Commodity Handbook for a strategic commodity that can save you millions.

Why do things manually or not at all when you have everything served on a silver platter – with video and artificial intelligence on top? Let’s talk about how Promitea can help you do better procurement with less effort.

The biggest procurement risk

How many organizations still consider price the biggest risk in procurement — while far more costly issues slip through right under their noses?

What happens when procurement doesn’t rely on data, but is driven exclusively by experience?

In most procurement departments, two worlds collide.

Is it time to radically change the concept and scope of procurement software? Or not?

At the end of 2025, LinkedIn procurement influencer Joel Collin-Demers—who uses the social network as a platform to build visibility and reach potential customers—put forward a rather radical idea that sparked discussion across the procurement community (nearly 60 comments). You’ll find a link to the LinkedIn post at the end of this article.

Purchasing managers as cost killers or drivers of added value?

Why is saving money no longer enough? Most of us who started out in purchasing in the last century remember the heroic tales of brilliant managers who managed to reduce costs by tens of percent through a combination of market power, toughness, and cunning. In this golden age of cost killers, purchasing was judged almost exclusively by parameters such as hard savings, acceleration of the purchasing process, reduction of administrative costs, and reducing the number of buyers. Unfortunately, hard savings cannot be made indefinitely.
